my epson 405 has been good until couple of months ago, i always used the correct genuine inks even though they are expensive and it has now decided to tare paper up and make a cranking noise as paper starts to feed ready for printing. i have removed all paper, restarted, unplugged, but no joy. They probably have a lifespan so that they run out just after the warranty period!! as do so many items nowadays!
Let's Power off the epson printer for 10 minutes. now power it back on. if the error still continues, you need to reset the printer. to do that, you need to go to the factory restore default settings. now click on the factory reset the printer.
