HARRY DIPLOCK: AN EVENING OF GYSPY JAZZ

We're thrilled to announce our next event for May 23rd!

At the forefront of Django Reinhardt inspired jazz in the UK and influenced by the Parisian jazz scene, co-founder of the London Django Collective Harry Diplock presents an evening of gypsy jazz.

Originally starting his journey from Devon to London in 2012 as a guitar builder, Harry soon became part of the UK jazz scene where his love of improvisation took over.

Now at the forefront of Django Reinhardt inspired jazz in the UK and co-founder of the London Django Collective, Harry has played all over Europe at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Soho Jazz Club, Le Duc des Lombards, (Paris), Torino Jazz Club, Royal Albert Hall and 606 Jazz Club.

Harry is also an educator in the style and regularly hosts various workshops and courses at jazz festivals and has shared the stage with some of the best in the scene including Antoine Boyer, Paulus Schafer, Olli Soikelli, Fanou Torracinta, Nigel Price, Giacomo Smith, Mathieu Chatelain and Joe Webb.

His regular trio is joined at Epsom Jazz Club by Sam Braysher, one of the most exciting young saxophone players of his generation.

Full line up is as follows:

Guitar - Harry Diplock
Sax - Sam Braysher
Rhythm guitar - Sol Grimshaw
Double bass - Simon Read

It's worth noting that Epsom Jazz Club has been launched as a not-for-profit community project, with the sole ambition of bringing Nationally and Internationally renowned Jazz Musicians to venues in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell, Surrey.

Other than our nominal promotional and venue/equipment hire expenses, all the ticket revenues go directly to the professional musicians.

It is never intended that Epsom Jazz Club be a private entity or profit-making. In fact, we are a subsidary of Epsom Music (Registered Charity  No. 1197449).

Should ticket revenues exceed event expenses, we seek to either make improvements to our concert evenings or introduce some discounts for the young.

Be the first to know about future gigs -  send us your email via the contact page for our newsletter.
