1. Introduction

EPS GURU is an independent educational application providing original study tools and exam preparation resources. It is not affiliated with, maintained by, or endorsed by HRD Korea or any government entity.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile app or website.

By using EPS GURU, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect 

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our educational services:

• Account Information: Email address and display name (via Google Firebase) to sync your study progress and exam results.

• Technical Identifiers: IP addresses, unique device identifiers (Android Advertising ID), and OS version to ensure app stability and prevent fraud.

3. Use of Data and Third-Party Processors : We utilize industry-standard sub-processors to maintain the service. These partners process data only as necessary to provide their specific functions:

• Google Firebase: Processes authentication and real-time database requests to save your progress.

• Google AdMob: Processes device identifiers to deliver relevant advertisements.

• jsDelivr CDN (Powered by Cloudflare): Serves static assets (PDFs/Audio). To ensure fast delivery and security, standard server logging (IP address) occurs during asset retrieval. This data is used for security and performance analytics; no personal account data is shared with these providers.

4. Your Privacy Rights (Access & Control)

In compliance with global standards, users of EPS GURU have the following rights:

• Right to Access: You may request a summary of the data we hold about you by emailing our support.

• Right to Rectification: You can update your profile information at any time within the App Settings.

• Right to Deletion: You can use the "Delete Account" button in the app to permanently erase your account and all associated exam progress.

• Right to Withdraw Consent: You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app or deleting your account.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

• Active Accounts: We retain your data only as long as your account remains active to preserve your learning history.

• Deactivation: If you request account deletion, your personal data is purged from our active databases within 30 days.

• Archival Data: Some transaction metadata may be kept longer only where required by Nepali law or for financial auditing.

6. Security & Encryption

We take data protection seriously. We implement the following:

• Encryption in Transit: All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS (HTTPS) protocols.

• Access Control: Only authorized developers have access to backend databases for the purpose of maintenance and support.

• Secure Storage:We utilize Google Firebase secure cloud infrastructure to prevent unauthorized access.

7. Children’s Privacy : EPS GURU does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. We do not provide age-restricted content and rely on Google account age information where available.

• If such data is identified, it is immediately deleted from our systems.

• Parents or guardians may contact us at support@epsguru.com to request removal of any child-related information.

8. Advertising & Reward System : EPS GURU  uses advertisements to keep the platform accessible for free users.

• Ad Engagement: Free users may encounter advertisements to unlock specific premium features, grammar guides, or exam sets.

• Ad-Free Options: Users can opt-out of advertisements by:

  1. Reward System: Completing "Daily Targets," "Challenges," or earning In-App Coins. Once the daily goal is met, ads may be temporarily disabled for that user as a reward for their learning progress.

• Third-Party Ads: We use Google AdMob to serve these ads. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to show personalized content. You can manage or reset your Advertising ID at: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

9. Changes to This Policy : We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our app features (such as new reward systems) or for legal compliance.

• Notification: Any significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notification or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

• Acceptance: Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes your agreement to the new terms.

10. Acceptable Use

To protect our original grammar content and the fairness of our Reward System:

• Prohibited Actions: Any attempt to use bots, scrapers, or "auto-clickers" to bypass ads or fake the completion of challenges is strictly prohibited.

• Enforcement: Manipulating transaction metadata or attempting to bypass security features will result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without notice.

11. Microphone & Audio Data (Required for RECORD_AUDIO) 

For our "Pronunciation Practice" and "Speaking Test" features, EPS GURU requests access to your device's microphone.

• Purpose: We use this access solely to analyze your speech for pronunciation accuracy and to provide feedback during practice sessions.

• Storage: Audio data is processed ephemerally (in real-time). We do not record, store, or transmit your voice recordings to our servers or any third parties.

• Consent: The app will ask for your explicit permission before accessing the microphone, and you can revoke this access at any time through your device settings.
