If you want a portable, ultra-stable transmitter for gaming consoles and mobile devices with cutting-edge low-latency audio, choose eppfun Le Audio USB; if you need a dedicated TV audio extractor that boosts volume on optical connections while sending sound to headphones and a soundbar simultaneously, choose Avantree Oasis Plus 2.
• eppfun Le Audio USB: Strength lies in its Bluetooth 5.4 chip and support for the latest LDAC and AptX Lossless codecs for high-fidelity gaming and mobile use; trade-off is it lacks HDMI ARC extraction capabilities entirely.
• Avantree Oasis Plus 2: Strength is its unique ability to extract audio from HDMI ARC ports and boost optical volume by up to 6dB for clearer dialogue; trade-off is it relies on the older Bluetooth 5.3 standard rather than the newest 5.4 protocol.
• The Pick: Go with eppfun if your primary setup involves a PS5, Switch, or smartphone running best earphones for jogging scenarios where stability matters most; choose Avantree if you are fighting with an older TV that only has HDMI and need to connect both wireless headphones and a soundbar at once.
The eppfun Le Audio USB C Bluetooth Transmitter is built around the idea of maximum mobility and future-proofing your connection. At its core sits the Qualcomm 5181 chip, which drives the latest Bluetooth 5.4 standard. This isn't just a minor upgrade; it translates to a significantly more stable connection over longer distances compared to previous generations. If you are moving around a lot—perhaps running errands, working in a large house, or setting up a temporary station in a different room—the extended range and reduced interference of this newer standard provide a level of reliability that older transmitters simply cannot match.
For gamers, this device is a powerhouse. It supports a robust suite of audio decoding protocols, including LDAC, AptX Lossless, and AptX Adaptive Low Latency. The key here is the "Adaptive" feature, which dynamically adjusts bitrate and latency based on what the connected headphones can handle. This means you get high-definition 24-bit dynamic audio without the annoying lip-sync delays that ruin competitive gaming experiences. The unit is designed to work seamlessly across Windows, Linux, Apple, Android, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 platforms without needing drivers. You plug it into the USB port, and the system recognizes it immediately.
However, this device is not designed for every scenario. It is strictly a USB-C transmitter meant to bridge wired devices to wireless headphones. It does not have an HDMI input, nor does it have an optical output. If your goal is to extract sound directly from a modern television via HDMI ARC, this unit will not work. It is best suited for users who already have a source device (like a phone or console) with a direct digital or analog output they want to convert wirelessly. It also features Auracast broadcast mode, allowing multiple receivers to connect simultaneously, which is fantastic for sharing audio with friends at a party or in a theater setting, but this is a niche feature that requires compatible receiving hardware.

The Avantree Oasis Plus 2 takes a completely different approach, solving a very specific and common frustration: how to get audio out of a modern TV that has abandoned traditional audio ports. Many contemporary TVs now only offer HDMI as an output, often relying on HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel). The Oasis Plus 2 acts as a bridge, extracting the audio signal from that single HDMI ARC port and converting it into usable Optical (TOSLINK) or RCA outputs. This makes it possible to connect legacy soundbars, hearing aids, or Bluetooth transmitters to televisions that otherwise would not allow it.
One of the most practical features for home theater enthusiasts is the "Bypass" functionality. With Bypass ON, the device sends audio to your external speakers via Optical/RCA while simultaneously streaming wirelessly to your Bluetooth headphones. This allows you to listen to the news or a movie late at night without disturbing others, while your family continues watching on the main TV through the soundbar. When Bypass is OFF, the HDMI audio is muted, directing all sound exclusively to the wireless stream. This dual-output capability is rare and incredibly useful for households with conflicting listening needs.
Volume management is another area where this product shines. A known issue with many optical transmitters is that the digital signal often comes out too quiet, making it impossible to hear dialogue clearly even at maximum volume. The Oasis Plus 2 addresses this by boosting the volume of optical connections by up to 6dB. This ensures that you get a loud, clear signal regardless of whether you are using a sensitive pair of headphones or a less efficient speaker system. While it uses Bluetooth 5.3 instead of the newer 5.4, the range is still impressive, supporting connections up to 164 feet (50 meters), which covers almost any living space. It is the ideal choice for anyone looking to turn a dumb TV into a smart audio hub.

• Best for volume issues with optical cables → Avantree Oasis Plus 2: The 6dB boost feature solves the "whisper-quiet" problem common with other optical transmitters.
• Best for simultaneous listening → Avantree Oasis Plus 2: If you need to listen on headphones while someone else watches on a soundbar, the bypass feature makes this possible without extra equipment.
• Best for runners and joggers → eppfun Le Audio USB: Its compact size and focus on low-latency stability make it the superior option when paired with with microphone earphones for jogging or standalone sport buds.
After weighing the specifications and real-world use cases, I would buy the eppfun Le Audio USB if my priority was personal, mobile audio quality, particularly for gaming or running. The Bluetooth 5.4 chip and the support for lossless codecs give me confidence that I am getting the highest possible fidelity and the most stable connection available today. It feels like a tool built for the enthusiast who wants their audio experience to be crisp, responsive, and untethered. However, for the average home user dealing with a modern TV, the Avantree Oasis Plus 2 is the only logical solution because it unlocks audio from HDMI-only sources and fixes volume problems that plague other adapters. Ultimately, for best gaming headphones for jogging, the eppfun wins due to its lower latency and superior codec support, making it the safer bet for active use.
The eppfun Le Audio USB is the clear winner here. It supports AptX Adaptive Low Latency and uses the newer Bluetooth 5.4 standard, which minimizes the delay between visual action and audio playback, a critical factor for competitive gaming.
Yes, but the requirements differ. The Avantree Oasis Plus 2 is designed specifically for this, extracting audio from HDMI ARC so you can stream to headphones. The eppfun unit cannot do this unless you already have a separate device converting the TV's signal to USB or Optical first.
With most standard optical transmitters, yes, you often face volume issues. The Avantree Oasis Plus 2 includes a specific feature that boosts optical volume by up to 6dB, ensuring the sound is loud enough even at lower settings, a benefit the eppfun does not offer as it does not process optical signals.
Absolutely. Its compact design, lack of heavy cabling, and support for long-distance transmission make it excellent for pairing with best earphones for jogging. It connects directly to your phone or console and stays stable even when you move away from the source.
