Eon Private Browser ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy and personal data. We believe your web browsing activity belongs solely to you. This Privacy Policy details how our application handles information, permissions, and data when you use Eon Private Browser on Android devices.
Core Privacy Principle: We do not collect, sell, lease, or monetize your personal information or web browsing history. All browsing history, cookies, cached files, downloads, and bookmarks stay stored strictly on your local device or are erased based on your settings.
A. Data We Do NOT Collect
No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account details.
No Browsing Telemetry: We do not track, log, or transmit the websites you visit, your search queries, IP address, or browsing habits to our servers or third-party analytics providers.
No Third-Party Ad Networks or Trackers: The browser does not embed third-party advertising SDKs or behavioural user tracking trackers.
B. Data Handled Strictly Locally on Your Device
Bookmarks & Saved Sites: Stored locally in an encrypted/private SQLite database on your device. Never synced to external servers unless you manually export them.
Browsing History & Cache: Maintained locally in your private application storage sandbox. In Private / Incognito Mode, all session history, cache, web storage, and cookies are automatically purged when tabs are closed or when you exit the app.
Downloaded Files: Downloaded files are saved to your device's designated download folder under your explicit direction and control.
Eon Private Browser only requests system permissions strictly necessary to deliver standard web browsing capabilities:

INTERNET (android.permission.INTERNET)
Required to connect to websites, retrieve web pages, and download requested files.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used to detect network connectivity (e.g., Wi-Fi vs. Mobile Data) to notify you if you are offline.
CAMERA (android.permission.CAMERA)
Optional. Only requested at runtime if a website you actively visit requests video capture (e.g., video calls, QR scanning, photo uploads). The camera is never accessed in the background.
RECORD_AUDIO (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO)
Optional. Only requested at runtime if a website you actively visit requests audio input (e.g., web voice search, WebRTC calls).
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS
Allows audio volume control and routing during web media playback.
STORAGE (Android 12 and below)
Used exclusively to save downloaded files that you initiate and permit. On Android 13+, the system photo picker and standard scoped download manager are used without broad storage permissions.
You can review or revoke any optional permission at any time through your Android device settings (Settings > Apps > Eon Private Browser > Permissions).
When you browse the internet using Eon Private Browser:
You may visit third-party websites, web services, or search engines (such as Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, or Startpage).
Each third-party website has its own independent privacy policy and data collection practices. We encourage you to review their respective policies.
Eon Private Browser provides built-in ad-blocking, tracker prevention, and Do-Not-Track headers to help protect your identity across third-party domains.
Because we do not store your data on external servers, you have total control over your data retention:
Instant Cache & Cookie Wipe: You can wipe all history, cache, cookies, and local web storage at any time via the in-app Clear Browsing Data option.
One-Tap Exit in Private Mode: Exiting or closing private tabs immediately clears in-memory and disk session data.
Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Eon Private Browser permanently removes all associated application files, local databases, and preferences from your device.
Eon Private Browser does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under the age defined by applicable local law). The application contains no profiling, targeted advertising, or data collection mechanisms.
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. Any modifications will be posted with an updated "Last updated" date.
