Welcome to Eon Browser. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure, fast, and transparent browsing experience. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how your personal data is handled when you use the Eon Browser mobile application.
Eon Browser is designed with an on-device privacy-first architecture. The following data is stored locally on your device:
Browsing History & Bookmarks: Saved URLs, page titles, and saved bookmarks are stored securely on your device using a local database.
Open Tabs & Session State: Information about your active tabs and session layout to allow seamless browsing.
Cache, Cookies & Web Storage: Standard web cache, cookies, and local storage generated by the websites you visit to improve loading speeds and preserve website preferences.
Downloads: Files you choose to download are saved directly to your device's designated download folder.
Incognito / Private Mode: When you browse in Incognito Mode, your browsing history, cookies, and web cache from that session are not saved once the private session is closed.
To ensure app stability, detect performance issues, and provide crash reporting:
We may collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable diagnostic information such as device model, OS version, app version, and error stack traces.
Eon Browser requests only the permissions necessary to deliver core features:
Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to load websites and connect to the internet.
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Required only when you use the built-in QR Code Scanner to scan website URLs or when a website explicitly requests camera access with your permission.
Storage / Downloads (android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / Download Manager): Required only to save downloaded files to your device storage.
We use the information solely to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the browser's features and performance.
Allow you to search the web, manage bookmarks, restore tabs, and scan QR codes.
Diagnose application crashes, bugs, and technical issues.
Safeguard users against malicious websites using built-in security features.
Websites You Visit: When you navigate to third-party websites through Eon Browser, their respective privacy policies and terms of service govern how they collect and use your data.
Search Engines: Your search queries entered into the address bar are sent to the default search engine you select (e.g., Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing).
Firebase Services (if enabled): May collect basic, non-identifying telemetry/analytics to help us understand app performance and stability.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data or browsing history to third-party advertisers.
User Control: You have full control over your local data at all times. You can clear your browsing history, cookies, cache, and saved bookmarks directly from the in-app Settings > Clear Browsing Data menu.
App Uninstall: Uninstalling the app permanently removes all local databases, bookmarks, and cached files associated with the application from your device.
Eon Browser does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.
