Welcome to Berthoud High School's

Environmental Awareness Club

The Environmental Awareness Club is a student-run organization at Berthoud High School focused on spreading awareness of environmental impacts and issues throughout the local community.

The club focuses on informing the community on ways to be more environmentally friendly, and does projects to help promote public understanding, and to help keep the local environment clean.

Sponsored by BHS teacher Kristal Domenico, the Environmental Awareness Club has been advocating for the environment since 2020.

Students in the Environmental Awareness Club participate in organizing community events, such as the annual BHS Earth Week. Earth Week includes multiple recycle drives, special events such as "Anything But a Car Day", and opportunities for students to win prizes such as ice cream, t-shirts, and reusable shopping bags.

EAC students also organized and manage the ongoing BHS Clothing Drive through USagain, which has collected over 10,000 pounds of clothing to be donated, enough to clothe more than 200 people!

Members of the BHS EAC also get to participate in many fun learning opportunities. Students have opportunities to do research related to the environment, and participate in hands-on learning activities, such as growing an aquaponic garden.

The EAC also works on community improvement projects to help spread awareness for environmental issues, such as hanging posters over recycle bins to spread awareness about recycling.

Students in the Environmental Awareness Club also get to participate in fun club activities, such as our holiday plant-exchange, and our annual Dirt n' Worms party at the end of each year.

Have fun making a difference in your community through the Environmental Awareness Club!
