Jazz = Pure Entropy

If entropy can be defined as the amount of chaos and unpredictability of a system, then our goal is to be an eclectic jazz group that breathes the entropy of jazz into our performances.

Consisting of 18 musicians from the West Central Illinois region, we formed out of a passion for jazz music in all its forms. Our entire ensemble in its current iteration is formed from current students and alumni of the Western Illinois University jazz program! We seek to perform music from all the jazz greats as well as breathe life into lesser-known tunes, and we also aim to provide a platform for our members to compose new music as well!

We play Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Count Basie, as well as more contemporary works by composers such as Kris Berg, Alan Baylock, Pat Metheny and many more! We also perform "pops" music as well, including adaptations of television, video game, and film tunes!
