• ENJOY-UNIQUE Mic Headphones Comfort — biggest strength: a full-size retro handset design with a physical answer/hang-up button, HD speaker and mic, and a claimed reduction in radiation exposure compared with holding a phone to your ear.
• ENJOY-UNIQUE Mic Headphones Comfort — biggest trade-off: it is a single-purpose calling device with no noise cancelling, no app, no carrying case and Bluetooth 4.2, so it is not built for music, workouts or travel.
• JBL Vibe Beam 2 — biggest strength: true wireless earbuds with Active Noise Cancelling, Smart Ambient, four microphones for calls, up to 40 hours of total playback and a USB-C charging case.
• JBL Vibe Beam 2 — biggest trade-off: they are in-ear buds, so the experience is all about the ear tips and the app — and you have to keep track of two small earpieces plus a case.
• Who each pick is for: the ENJOY-UNIQUE handset suits someone who wants familiar, comfortable long calls at home, in the office or for an older relative; the JBL Vibe Beam 2 suits someone who wants one pair of earbuds for music, calls, commuting and noisy environments.
This is not a pair of headphones in the usual sense. It is a Bluetooth handset — a retro phone receiver you hold to your ear while your actual phone sits on the desk or in your pocket. The whole point is the shape. It has an on-ear earpiece and a mouthpiece positioned like an old landline phone, which many people find far more natural for a long conversation than clamping a flat slab of glass against their head for an hour. The body is lightweight and described as easy to hold, and there is a physical answer button that also hangs up — and a double-click on that same button redials the last number you spoke to.
The features that matter most here are the ones about calling, not listening. There is an HD speaker and microphone built into the receiver, a call control button, and a claim of eliminating 96% of mobile phone radiation — the idea being that the phone's transmitter stays away from your head while you talk. It runs Bluetooth 4.2 with a stated 10-metre range and charges over USB in about four hours. It works with basically anything that speaks Bluetooth: iPhone, Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, ASUS phones, plus tablets and laptops.
Who should buy it? In my opinion, the clearest fit is an older parent or grandparent who grew up with a handset and finds a modern smartphone awkward against the ear. It is also genuinely useful for anyone who takes long calls at a desk — sales calls, family catch-ups, doctor's appointments — and wants their hands free-ish and their phone out of the way. The design is pitched at the elderly, children and adults, so a household can share one handset.
Who should skip it? Anyone who wants to listen to music, podcasts or videos. There is no noise cancelling, no app, no EQ and no carrying case here — just a calling tool. If you want earbuds you can wear on a run or in a noisy café, this is the wrong product.
The JBL Vibe Beam 2 is the opposite kind of product: two small in-ear buds in a charging case, built for everyday sound on the move. JBL's headline here is Pure Bass sound from 8mm dynamic drivers, with a frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz and 100dB sensitivity. That is a tuning aimed at punchy low end rather than studio flatness, and it is the sort of sound signature most people actually enjoy on a commute.
The smart features are the real differentiator. Active Noise Cancelling filters out surrounding noise, and Smart Ambient lets you dial in how much of the outside world you want to hear — so you can order a coffee or hear a announcement without pulling a bud out. For calls, there are four microphones in total, two per earbud, which pick up your voice and suppress background noise. If you take a lot of calls outdoors, that is a meaningful design choice rather than a marketing line.
Battery is the other strong card: up to 10 hours on a single charge plus another 30 hours in the case, for 40 hours total with ANC off. A 10-minute top-up over USB-C reportedly gives around three hours of playback. The case itself is compact — roughly 6.4cm long and 41g — and the buds together weigh about 50g. Bluetooth 5.3 is the modern standard here, which generally means a more stable connection than older versions. There is also a JBL Headphones app with EQ presets, a custom EQ, multilingual voice prompts and a Relax Mode with five ambient sounds. Touch controls handle playback and calls.
Who should buy it? Anyone who wants one device that does music, calls, noise control and long battery life — commuters, gym-goers, students, remote workers on video calls. Who should skip it? Someone who dislikes in-ear fit, or who specifically wants a handset-style calling experience. There is no 3.5mm jack, so it is Bluetooth only.
• Best for long, comfortable phone conversations → ENJOY-UNIQUE Mic Headphones Comfort. The handset shape keeps the phone away from your ear and mimics a landline call.
• Best for music and media → JBL Vibe Beam 2. 8mm dynamic drivers, Pure Bass tuning and a 20Hz–20kHz range versus a calling-first handset.
• Best for noisy environments → JBL Vibe Beam 2. Active Noise Cancelling plus Smart Ambient, which the ENJOY-UNIQUE handset simply does not have (its noise control is listed as none).
• Best for battery life → JBL Vibe Beam 2. Up to 40 hours total with the case, versus a roughly four-hour charge cycle on the handset and no case battery to fall back on.
• Best for call clarity in the wind or outdoors → JBL Vibe Beam 2. Four microphones (two per bud) designed to cancel ambient noise on calls.
• Best for older users or anyone who dislikes smartphones against the ear → ENJOY-UNIQUE Mic Headphones Comfort. Explicitly designed for the elderly, children and adults, with a physical answer button.
• Best for travel and pocketability → JBL Vibe Beam 2. Two buds and a 41g case versus a 200g handset you have to carry or leave on a desk.
• Best for simplicity with no app required → ENJOY-UNIQUE Mic Headphones Comfort. Pair over Bluetooth and press one button; no app, no EQ, no firmware.
• Best for the latest Bluetooth standard → JBL Vibe Beam 2. Bluetooth 5.3 versus Bluetooth 4.2.
If I had to pick one for myself, I would buy the JBL Vibe Beam 2. In my opinion it does far more for the same household: music, calls, noise cancelling, 40 hours of playback and a charging case you can drop in a pocket. The ENJOY-UNIQUE handset is the better calling device for a specific kind of user — an older relative, or someone who lives on long phone calls at a desk — and for that person it is genuinely the more comfortable choice. But as an only-pair-of-audio-gear purchase, the JBL covers more ground. Check the current price on Amazon before you decide, since the value calculation swings a lot depending on what you already own.
For calls in noisy places, yes — four microphones and Active Noise Cancelling are built for that. For long, relaxed conversations where you want the phone away from your head, the ENJOY-UNIQUE handset is the more natural design. They solve different problems.
Yes. It uses Bluetooth 4.2 and is listed as compatible with iPhone, Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi and ASUS phones, plus tablets and laptops, as long as the device supports Bluetooth. Range is stated at up to 10 metres.
Up to 10 hours on the buds themselves, plus another 30 hours in the charging case — 40 hours total with ANC off. A 10-minute USB-C charge gives roughly three hours of playback. The case charges in about two hours.
It depends on what you need. The JBL Vibe Beam 2 packs in ANC, an app, four call mics and 40 hours of battery; the ENJOY-UNIQUE is a niche calling accessory with no app or noise cancelling. Compare the current prices on Amazon for both and match them to your actual use case.
