About Me

Family:

My husband and I are both Burleson alumni (no we didn't date in high school... I was too cool for him.) It wasn't until I was nearly through with my bachelor's degree that he swept me off my feet. He loves me through my craziness. I am outgoing, ambitious, and a big people person, while he... is not. Hey, balance, right? We have two amazing kiddos, Charlie (Charlotte), who is 5 going on 15, and Benjamin, who has a lot of personality for only being 2 years old. We are thinking about keeping them around. I'll keep you posted.

Education:

I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 2013, and earned my Master's Degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction in 2016. I am in my final semester of my principal certification program, and can't wait to finish strong! #GoMavericks

Career:

My first career was social work. I always knew I wanted to work with kids, so I pursued social work, and wound up interning as a school social worker for a national non-profit organization called Communities In Schools. I fell in love with it, and served as a school social worker in Crowley ISD for 3 years. The more I was in the schools, the more I felt the pull to continue serving students, but in a different format (hence the Master's Degree in Education). Crowley ISD decided to keep me around for a little while longer as an English I teacher at North Crowley. A few years later, I took a detour and ended up in Alvarado ISD, where I got to experience teaching English III, AP English Lang., and English IV. I always dreamed of coming back to Burleson, so when Centennial had an opening, I bugged the principal until he hired me. This will be my 4th year at CHS, and I couldn't picture myself anywhere else. I adore what I do, because of who I work with. My students are my greatest passion. I invest myself in them completely, because they deserve to have someone devoted to their well-being and their future.
