Protection of Environment

Since ancient times Nature has served Man, being the source of his life. For thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment. But with the development of civilization man’s interference with nature began to increase.

Large cities with thousands of smoky industrial enterprises appear all over the world today. They pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we live in. Many cities suffer from smog. Vast forests are cut and burnt in fire.

As a result, some rare species of animals, birds, fish and plants disappear forever, a number of rivers and lakes dry up.

Environmental protection is a universal concern. That is why serious measures to create a system of ecological security should be taken.

The accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in April 1986 caused radioactive pollution of a vast area. Who knows what possible effects on health or longer-term genetic effects this pollution may have.

The international organization Greenpeace is also doing much to preserve the environment.

The Earth is our home. We must take care of it for ourselves and next generations.

There are lots of languages in the world. And every language is unique and useful. But I think, that it isn’t enough to know only one language nowadays. I can’t imagine modern world without knowing English. There are a lot of people, that understand the opportunities that this language gives. That’s why they started learning English. I was one of those who realized the importance of knowing English in the modern world

First of all, English is the most popular language in the world. A lot a people know this language, so you will not have problems in communication with others. You can travel where you want and don’t be afraid that you can’t enjoy your trip because of lack of knowledge. English is the language of opportunities. You are able to watch films in the original, read books, study. With an excellent knowledge of English it is easier to find a good and highly paid job. This is a business language. So if you want to earn enough money, you need to know English. If you want to study in the best universities in the world, you need to speak English. Just imagine, you can be a student of Stanford University or University of Oxford!

As for me, I study English to communicate with others. I like to meet new people, share my knowledge and get new information from others. I like to discuss different questions and just speak with interesting people.

As you see, English opens new opportunities in our life. By the way, there is a nice proverb “A new language – a new world”. Learn new languages and open new worlds for your own!
