Khandesh College Education Society was established in 1944 to impart education to the people of Khandesh region. As the leading educational institution of the region, the society has grown into a Profound Academic Movement by catering to the educational needs of all the sections of society. With its commitment for dissemination and the advancement of knowledge, the society runs various tributaries of knowledge transmitting education from its basic foundation of primary education to higher education (KG to PG). Apart from these efforts, the society also offers a plethora of programmes and courses in various streams like Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Education, Management, Engineering, Geoinformatics.

M. J. College, established in 1945, is reaccredited with “A” grade (CGPA 3.63) by NAAC has been honoured as a “College of Excellence” by UGC, New Delhi. It has also been certified ISO 9001:2008. The college is a premier academic institution sprawling over 25 acres expanse of land with absolutely serene environment. It is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and provides post-graduate, graduate, certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses in various disciplines. The college also has a rich library with traditional and digital learning resources and a spacious reading room. It keeps its wings ever spread for flights to wider and higher horizons with perpetual endeavours to touch the zenith of excellence.

The department has its unique contribution to the field of culture, human values, literature and language. The department is committed to excellence in teaching and providing research opportunities in order to enhance the quality of under graduate and post graduate students in addition to various career oriented courses to lead intellectually rewarding lives on the path of a bright career. The department performs leading role in conducting English Proficiency programmes, Research Promotion schemes, NET/SET coaching as well as literary activities for students. Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities such as Seminars, Workshops, Group Discussions, Guest lectures, Screening of Films, and competitions like Quiz, Poetry recitation, Essay-writing, and Literary Games are organized to equip students to become competent in the global community.
