# Privacy Policy — Learn English for Beginners

This Privacy Policy explains how the "Learn English for Beginners" mobile application
(the "App") handles information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

## 1. Not intended for children
**The App is not directed at children under the age of 13.** It is intended exclusively
for users aged **13 and over (13+ and 18+)** and is **excluded from Google Play's
"Designed for Families" programme**. We do not knowingly collect data from children under
13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us and we will take
appropriate action.
## 2. Information we collect
The App does **not** require an account and does **not** ask for your name, email, phone
number, contacts, photos, files or precise location.
Your **learning progress** (XP, streaks, completed lessons, favourites, flashcard state,
settings) is stored **locally on your device** only.
Through third-party services, the following limited data is processed:

## 3. Microphone & speech recognition (Speaking practice)
The optional **Speaking practice** feature uses your device's microphone
(`RECORD_AUDIO` permission) **only when you tap the microphone button**. Your speech is
processed by your device's **system speech-recognition service** (typically provided by
Google) to give you an instant pronunciation score. **The App itself does not record,
store, or transmit your voice**, and no audio is kept after recognition. You can deny or
revoke the microphone permission at any time; all other features keep working.
## 4. On-device translation
The optional **translation** feature uses **Google ML Kit on-device translation**. A small
language model is downloaded once (over the internet) and translations then happen
**entirely on your device** — the texts you translate are not sent to our servers.
## 5. Advertising
The App is free and supported by advertising provided by **Google AdMob**, which may use
the device Advertising ID to serve and measure ads (including optional rewarded ads you
choose to watch). You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device settings

## 6. Analytics & crash reporting
We use **Google Firebase Analytics** (anonymous usage statistics) and **Firebase
Crashlytics** (crash diagnostics) to improve stability and quality. See Google's policy:

## 7. Permissions summary
- **Internet / Network state** — ads, optional translation-model download.
- **Microphone (optional)** — speaking practice only, on user action (see §3).
- **Notifications (Android 13+, optional)** — daily study reminders you can toggle off
at any time in the App settings or system settings.
## 8. Data security
All data transmitted by the App is **encrypted in transit** (HTTPS/TLS). Your learning
data stays on your device.
## 9. Data sharing
Data is processed only by the third-party providers listed above (Google AdMob, Google
Firebase, Google ML Kit, the system speech-recognition service), each under its own
privacy policy. We do not share data with any other party.
## 10. Your choices
- Reset/limit your Advertising ID in device settings.
- Deny or revoke the microphone permission (speaking practice becomes unavailable).
- Disable notifications in the App or system settings.
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored progress.
## 11. International users
The App is available worldwide. By using it, you understand that data may be processed by
Google's services in accordance with their policies.
## 12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above will reflect the
latest version. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
