Our Mission:
Our mission is to provide compassionate, supportive, multicultural services to the community and cultivate growth mindset in individuals while bringing awareness about the importance of mental health.
Mental health influences how we think, perceive the outside world and act. It affects how we form connections, make healthy decisions and how we respond to stressors. Sometimes when we face challenges, we lose hope and feel alone, often forgetting that each moment is a new opportunity for change. A new opportunity to plant a seed and grow. Encouraging Moments, is a reminder that with the right tools, healthy supports, giving grace to ourselves and pushing through each moment, we can create a better future.
We provide various services to support members of the community. Encouraging Moments with Mercedes Robinson, LMFT embraces diversity and provides a safe space for youth, adults, families and minorities. We are a non-judgmental space that ensures that when any member of the community entrusts us with services, he/she/they are valued and respected. Let Encouraging Moments ride with you on this journey.

Frequently Asked Questions
First, I must say you are taking the first step by exploring therapists and the services they offer. That is huge! You may still be apprehensive about the process and nervous about the first session. Therapy is a journey you take with the therapist you have chose. It is a shared journey, where you make the decisions and I support you along the way. I may not have a magic 8 ball to answer all your questions, but I am able to listen and promote reflection because your answers create awareness. You can expect compassion, respect, humor and time to focus on you. The first session involves an intake as I review documents and gather information about you. I will support you in creating a treatment plan and promote rapport development to increase the therapeutic alliance.

No, I do not and cannot prescribe medication. I am not a medical doctor. Many of my clients find medication is helpful, but many of them also make progress in therapy without medication. If you want to be evaluated for psychiatric medication, you can either contact your primary care physician or a psychiatrist. If you are already taking medication, I can coordinate care with your doctor and support you on getting your needs met.
