# Privacy Policy — Encore

## What Encore stores
Encore records the title, URL, and closing time of tabs you close, so that you
can reopen them later. This data is stored **only on your own computer**, using
Chrome's local extension storage.
## What Encore does not do
- Encore does **not** transmit any data off your device.
- Encore does **not** use any remote server, analytics, or tracking.
- Encore does **not** record tabs opened in Incognito windows. The extension is
declared `"incognito": "not_allowed"` and does not run in Incognito at all.
- Encore does **not** share, sell, or disclose your data to anyone.
## Retention
Records are deleted automatically once they are older than the retention period
you choose in the settings page (default: 7 days). You may set this between 1
and 90 days.
## Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed |

| `tabs` | Read the title and URL of tabs so that closed tabs can be listed and reopened. |
| `storage` | Save the list of closed tabs and your settings on your device. |
| `alarms` | Run the periodic cleanup that deletes expired records. |
| `favicon` | Display each site's icon in the list, using Chrome's built-in favicon service. No network request leaves your device. |
Encore requests no host permissions and injects no content scripts.
## Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes all stored records.
