We are pleased to announce a regional mini-conference focused on improving upper-division Electromagnetism I instruction through open teaching resources, to be held in Atlanta, GA, on May 29-30, 2026. The main purpose of this event is to (1) overview the current available Electromagnetism I teaching resources, along with novel approaches and pedagogical practices, developed and implmented by the participants, and (2) showcase some developments towards a new, freely available (CC BY) suite of concise lecture notes, worked problems, clicker activities, and computation mini-labs designed to help students master key E&M skills such as symmetry selection, integral setup, and analytical–numerical connections, all developed within the Affordable Learning Georgia program. We also invite participants interested in utilizing and contributing to the openly available teaching materials, and developing their own materials for courses of a comparable or intersecting scope. Hosted in Atlanta with hybrid participation, the conference will bring together 10–20 faculty and instructors to explore hands-on demonstrations, share effective practices, and build a community dedicated to student success, active learning, and equitable access in advanced physics courses.
