The aim of the 3-day KOSMOS Dialogue event was to contextualize the research topic within broader currents of the cognitive sciences and humanities by bringing together researchers from different fields to map out interdisciplinary links and to elaborate paradigms, techniques and methods to be able to study the relationships between music, emotion, and visual imagery. Fifteen presentations spanning social sciences and humanities were given to focus on the ways in which music and visual imagery interact in creating an affective response.
The final day of the 2017 KOSMOS Dialogue witnessed group discussions on a number of themes central to the overarching topic. Specifically, these were:

The event took place at Humboldt University, Berlin from 1-3 June, 2017. It was organised by Mats Küssner (HU Berlin), André Weinreich (HU Berlin), and Tuomas Eerola (Durham University).
