Venue
The EMS Summer School 2022 will be hold at the Hotel Convento de São Paulo located in Aldeia da Serra, in the heart of Alentejo region (Portugal), at 50 km away from the Spanish border and near the city of Évora (UNESCO World Heritage). The Convento de São Paulo was built in 1182 by hermits desirous of prayer and well-being at half-slope of the Ossa's mountains. The convent was adapted and is now a comfortable 4* hotel, offering a fantastic view over the Alentejo landscape and all needed infrastructures for lectures, accommodation, meals and extra-activities for students and lecturers.
Accommodation
The hotel is equipped with comfortable rooms and suites which were adapted from the old rooms for the monks, the old nursery and library of the convent. All rooms are equipped with twin and double bed and private WC.
All students will be accommodated in shared rooms. However, single rooms might be reserved on request, depending on room availability.
Outdoor activities
During the stay the participants will have access to the swimming pools of the hotel available out of the lectures time. From the hotel the participants have access to pedestrian trails of 6 Km and 20 Km, through the Ossa's mountains, which offer a privileged contact with nature while appreciating the endemic flora and fauna species in the region.
