SORT celebrated its 20th anniversary at Rollins School of Public Health this fall. Read about our history and impact in the Atlanta community and beyond over the last two decades in Rollins Magazine's "SORT at 20".
"Now in its 20th year, SORT has lent much-needed assistance in outbreaks and emergencies including the H1N1 epidemic, Hurricane Katrina, the Ebola outbreak, and the COVID-19 pandemic."
Members in SORT are selected after a competitive application process in the fall. Our members attend monthly SORT general body meetings, complete online FEMA and CDC training courses, attend at least two SORT-sponsored events each semester, and take one of our course electives per academic year.
We accept applications each fall for SORT membership from graduate level public health students enrolled at Emory University, including MPH, MSPH, PhD, and Humphrey Fellows. Applications for the 2024-2025 cohort are closed. If you have questions about the application process, feel free to reach us at sortapps@gmail.com.
