I am interested in using novel data analysis techniques for improving our understanding of climate variability.
I am passionate about science and data and doing the best we can to understand the world around us.
Dr. Emily M. Gordon
I am a Data Science Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University working with the Diffenabugh Lab, with research interests at the intersection of climate variability and predictability, and novel data science methods. My research is focused on developing machine learning approaches to understand the predictability of the near term impacts of climate change. This involves investigating predictability across Earth system models and observations, and developing methods to best utilize the information available from troves of climate data. Prior to joining Stanford, I received my PhD from Colorado State University as a Fulbright scholar, and my BSc and MSc from the University of Otago in New Zealand. When not working I enjoy running, hiking, knitting and playing my violin.Â
