In my final project in Sociology 116 AC: Justice and the Labor Movement, I took part in a research project to provide valuable data to construct policies that aim to help domestic workers across the US. As part of a team, I surveyed around 50 domestic workers by cold calling members of The Institute of Popular Education of Southern California (IDEPSCA) coalition in the Los Angeles area to obtain domestic worker data.
Additionally, gaining experience by utilizing Excel to create pivot charts to conduct a mapping project by analyzing workers’ commuting data to form data-driven insights to address domestic workers’ transportation and safety needs during Covid-19.
As a team, I had a fantastic opportunity to create an alcoholic beverage product for the Production of Beer, Spirits, and Wine class in the Fall of 2021. Through this experience, I led my team through the ideation process of creating an innovative product and took part in creating a business proposal that we had to pitch to potential investors.
