The Low Temperature and High Magnetic Field laboratory of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid organizes with the project Improving the sustainability of the European Magnetic Field Laboratory (EMFL) of the European Magnetic Field Laboratory a regional meeting, aiming to exchange ideas among spanish scientists interested in high magnetic field science and technology, and other groups using EMFL.
23 and 24 October 2025. Starting at 09h00 on Thursday 23 October 2025 and ending at 16h00 on Friday 24 October 2025.
Conference room of the Faculty of Sciences, 01.00.IC.307, c/Fco Tomas y Valiente, 7, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, E-28049 Madrid.
The meeting is open to every researcher interested in high magnetic field science and technology.
Registration (free of charge) is required and should include an abstract. Download the registration form and send it to lbtuam@uam.es before 03 October 2025.
The meeting place can be easily reached using public transportation.
Participants are expected to make hotel reservations on their own. Madrid offers most options. Seek for example places close to C-4 train line, station Cantoblanco-Universidad, for example close to Atocha, Sol, Nuevos Ministerios or Chamartin. You might also chose Tres Cantos or Alcobendas, which are on the other side of the C-4 line. Do not hesitate to write lbtuam@uam.es for more information or to any of the local organizers.
Aims and scope:
Next-generation magnet technologies and experiments at high magnetic fields.
Quantum materials under extreme conditions: Topological matter, superconductivity magnetism, and correlated electron systems.
Superconductivity: from basics to applications.
Graphene, two-dimensional materials and devices of twisted systems.
Objectives:
Gather leading scientists, engineers, and early-career researchers to explore transformative advances in high magnetic field research and its interdisciplinary applications.
Develop access to emfl.eu through the use of the dual access system.
Foster the participation of Spanish scientists at the European Magnetic Field Laboratory.
The program will include invited talks, a poster session and a visit to the facilities at the UAM.
