The following message has been placed on all taxation-related pages at the request of the PT and FRCA.
Elsongia is known internationally for its strict laws surrounding taxes, and non-payment of due taxes is harshly punished. Almost all money made in Elsongia is taxed, regardless of where it is held. Tax avoidance and evasion is a constitutional offence, and you could be tried for treason, which carries a maximum punishment of an unlimited fine and life in prison. What this means is,
DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO AVOID TAXES IN ELSONGIA
because harsh punishment has happened and will happen. In 2014, an individual who attempted to hide more than $435 million that was earned in Elsongia in "offshore" bank accounts in Monaco was given a $600 million fine and a 25-year prison sentence. In 2006, another individual who had hidden nearly $48 billion of Elsongian money in the Cayman Islands was given a $65 billion fine and a 60-year prison sentence. Don't do it.
The Tax Agreement Scheme (TAS) are the countries and organisation that have entered special tax agreements with Elsongia.
FTTA countries all fall under the FTTA Taxation Act 1995 when it comes to taxes. This provides more economic and fiscal freedom than the TAS.
Among other things, their citizens and nationals are exempt from the Tourism and Healthcare Levy, receive protection from some Elsongian tax law, and corporations registered in these countries do not have to pay the Foreign Business Tariff. Elsongian citizens in these countries pay different Income Tax and Federal Insurance rates. Deals are made on an individual basis with countries, but are usually reciprocal to the maximal extent possible.
⚠ Hungary has been temporarily suspended from TAS due to human rights concerns.
⚠ The United States of America has violated their TAS agreement, but the government is not charging the Foreign Business Tariff on American businesses in the interests of economic stability.
⚠ The Russian Federation was suspended following their illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and any form of non-essential trade was banned following their illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Many sanctions are authorised against the Russian economy.
The following countries are in the TAS:
