The Meeting of Their Excellencies is a triannual meeting of the Federal President, the Prime Minister, the Ministers-President of each canton, and the Governors of each territory. They discuss policies they are each proposing, and ensure they have the others' support.
The name comes from the fact that all of these people hold the title "His/Her/Their Excellency". The meetings have been held since June 1826, and have been consistently every four months since 1999.
The June meetings of the group double as the Governmental Convention, where both the federal and regional cabinets assemble as well. Every five years, the Grand Governmental Convention is held, where 3654 elected officials (roles listed below) convene to make highly important decisions.
