Privacy Policy for Elovate
Elovate collects minimal, anonymous usage statistics to help us understand
how the extension is used and improve it over time. This data is never
linked to your Esplay, Steam, or FACEIT identity in any way.
What we collect:
- A randomly generated anonymous identifier, created locally in your
browser (not tied to your name, Steam ID, Esplay account, or any
personal identity)
- Basic usage counts (e.g. how many times the popup was opened, or
statistics were shown in a match room or gather)
- Your extension version and language setting
- Your browser type (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera)
What we do NOT collect:
- Your IP address is never stored
- Your Esplay username or FACEIT identity
- Your Steam ID (except for the optional shared name styles feature
described below, which is off-limits to analytics and stored
separately)
- Any match content, chat messages, or other personal information
- Your browsing history outside of esplay.com
Other data Elovate reads (but never sends to us):
The extension reads publicly available match/gather data from esplay.com's
own API and player rank data from FACEIT's public API, using your
browser's existing session, purely to display statistics directly to you.
This is never sent to, stored by, or shared with the developer or any
third party.
Shared name styles (optional, can be turned off):
If you choose a font or text effect for your name, Elovate stores that
choice on our server so other Elovate users can see it on your name, and
fetches other players' choices to show them to you. For this feature we
store: your SteamID64, the identifier of the font/effect you picked (from
our own fixed list - never free-form text or code), and the anonymous
installation identifier, which is used solely to prove that only you can
change your own style. Your name style is visible to other Elovate users.
No other profile data, statistics, or activity is stored with it. You can
turn this off in the extension settings, which also clears your stored
style. Your theme colour is never uploaded - it stays in your browser.
Your extension settings (which stats are shown, language) are saved
locally via Chrome's storage API and are not linked to the anonymous
analytics identifier.
