I am a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Policy (Economics concentration) at Duke University. My dissertation investigates the transition to cleaner electricity systems across diverse global contexts, with a particular focus on land-use tradeoffs, behavioral interventions, and household energy resilience. I approach these questions through technical, economic, policy, and social perspectives, employing econometrics, machine learning, and optimization modeling to evaluate the implications of different energy transition pathways. My current research centers on California’s Central Valley, Hanoi (Vietnam), and Cape Town (South Africa), and I have previously worked on projects in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Spain.
