Since 2008, she has maintained a robust private practice and holds admitting privileges at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. Additionally, she has served as the Medical Director at Caring Partners Hospice in Glendale since 2022, a facility renowned for its leadership in end-of-life care. She is licensed to practice in California and holds a DEA license, complemented by her certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Originating from Texas, she completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. Her exemplary academic performance led to her recognition on the dean's list annually from 1997 to 2001. Her academic excellence secured her a Pre-Medicine Scholarship, an Undergraduate National Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and a Texas A&M University Academic Scholarship. She achieved her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2005, followed by an enriching residency in Internal Medicine at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, where she was later appointed Co-Chief Medical Resident.
Her research has significantly impacted her field, notably her award-winning presentation on the effects of physical and chemical interventions on Chagas' Disease at the University of Texas Medical Branch Summer Research Symposium. Her research efforts extended to studying "Abnormal Papanicolaou Smears Among Hispanic Women" as indicators for STDs at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Since joining the American College of Physicians in 2005, she has been an active participant in the medical community. Her roles have included significant contributions to the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine, advocacy through the United Latin American Medical Student Organization, and volunteer work at St. Vincent's House Indigent Clinic. She has also been involved in various educational clubs and associations during her university years, significantly contributing to community projects and educational initiatives.
