Welcome to the XVI edition of the Spanish National Meeting on Electroceramics, Electrocerámica 16!
There are several materials challenges that must be addressed in order to create a more sustainable world, and electroceramics have an unquestionable role in achieving them. So we are excited to bring together experts in the field to share their latest research and advances and hope that this conference will serve as a platform for valuable discussions and collaborations among attendees.
The conference will cover recent advances on electroceramics with unique electrical, optical, and magnetic properties, with applications in devices such as capacitors, sensors, actuators, fuel cells, emerging technologies such as 5G communications and the Internet of Things, and many others. In essential, technologies that make our lives more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable. For that, the research in new materials and new technologies have to watch for efficiency in resources and performance, recyclability and waste reduction.

Some topics covered in the conference include:
Ferroelectric, dielectric and piezoelectric ceramics
Energy materials for fuel cells, batteries, membranes, solar cells….
Sensors, actuators
Magnetic ceramics, spintronics and data storage
Thermoelectric ceramics, waste heat recovery and temperature sensing.
Photocatalytic ceramics for air and water purification, self-cleaning surfaces, hydrogen production…
Novel processing methods, thin and thick film materials
Nanoparticles and nanostructures
Advanced, in-situ or operando characterization techniques for electroceramics
But...where?
This EC16 conference will take place in the stunning Pyrenees in the charming town of Jaca (Huesca). Jaca is rich in history and culture (once capital of the Kingdom of Aragón), known for its beautiful architecture (cradle of the Jaqués-Romanesque style), delicious cuisine and gorgeous natural surroundings. Jaca offers a variety of activities and sights for visitors such as its medieval castle, Cathedral (year 1063) and Roman bridge. We invite you to explore the city and its surroundings, and we hope that you have a memorable and enjoyable time during your visit.
We wish you an enjoyable and productive time at the conference!
