Our area is quite large, encompassing around a thousand houses, which is too large for one person to effectively manage. So our goal is for blocks or neighborhoods to organize with their immediate neighbors in smaller groups. Block Captains (sometimes also called "block leads") facilitate this by talking with their neighbors about emergency preparedness, collecting contact information, identifying our most vulnerable neighbors who might need extra help in an emergency, and hosting occasional meetings to talk about these issues. If you are willing to be a block captain or just curious to get more information, contact Rob and he can provide more information or help you get started.
On the map below, the green areas are blocks or neighborhoods that have a block lead. Contact Rob to get the contact information for your block captain!. We still need block leads for all the other areas that aren't green.
