Please keep in mind I am usually teaching so contacting me via email is always best.
While I welcome telephone calls, I kindly ask that we both respect the time afforded all students I am teaching in my classroom; moreover, we need to respect the confidentiality of the student your calling about. This is to say that calling my classroom while I am attending to students' learning takes time away from the curriculum I am teaching or the students' educational needs. In addition, if you call my classroom while I am teaching, I may seem less forthcoming or seem less attentive to your concerns. This is not the case. I want to make sure that when we speak, we can do so freely - keeping you and your student's privacy most of all. Therefore, I may just ask you for your name, a phone number and time at which might be better for both of us to speak freely.
Also, I know it is tempting to call or text your student in class. Please resist. If there is an emergency, please call the high school main office or the principal directly. Immediate attention or action will take place in your student's best interest.
Feel free to email me any time. I check my email at least three times a day weekdays and at least once or twice on weekends. I will respond to your email as promptly as I can.
