Meet the ELA Class of 2023
In 2009, the Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) developed a program to jump-start the careers of young design professionals. This program is called 'ELA' or the Emerging Leaders in Architecture and is comprised of 15 architects, designers and students from five greater Virginia regions (namely, Chesapeake, Northern Virginia, Richmond, Charlottesville and Roanoke.) Throughout the year, members of the ELA class participate in educational sessions to further develop skills such as community engagement, financial management, advocacy and public service.
