The European Union (EU) is a political and economic partnership that represents a unique form of cooperation between sovereign countries (including Singapore and Germany). The EU at Your School Campaign allowed us to learn more about the German-Singapore relations as we had the chance to speak with the deputy head of mission, Mr Christoph Hallier from the German Embassy in Singapore.
It was a meaningful and enjoyable experience throughout as we got to listen to his fulfilling life story and how it led to him becoming the deputy head of mission for the German Embassy in Singapore.
This experience has allowed me to understand a lot more on the strong and important connections Singapore needs and have with other countries such as Germany. For example, it is with these countries that we collaborate and maintain a good relationship that allows us (the future generation) to have better opportunities in terms of education and social standards.
When maintaining tight bonds with these countries, we allow Singapore to prosper faster. Some instances include having the second strongest passport in the world and having a lot of multi-national corporations (MNCs) to be willing to come to Singapore to establish their business.
