How to Use an Eight Point Garbage Matte in Premiere Pro CC 47
A garbage matte is a type of mask that allows you to isolate a specific area of your video and apply effects to it. For example, you can use a garbage matte to remove unwanted objects from your footage, or to crop out parts of the background that are not green-screened. A garbage matte can have different shapes and sizes, depending on how many points you use to define it. In this article, we will show you how to use an eight point garbage matte in Premiere Pro CC 47, which is the latest version of Adobe's video editing software.
Step 1: Apply the Opacity Effect
The first step is to apply the Opacity effect to the clip that you want to mask. You can find the Opacity effect in the Effects panel, under Video Effects > Transform. Drag and drop the effect onto your clip in the Timeline panel, or double-click on it to apply it. Alternatively, you can select your clip and go to Effect Controls > Opacity.
