From 22 to 26 March 2026, Elaine Claire Macaspac, a student of the Environmental Hydrology Laboratory, participated in the 2026 Women Champions in the Water Sector Fellowship Program.
Over five days, Elaine had the privilege of joining a passionate group of women leaders from diverse fields within the water sector. Throughout the fellowship, the fellows refined their respective projects, exchanged ideas, and gained valuable insights from one another, as well as from fellowship alumnae and women experts in the water sector. Additionally, they had the opportunity to visit the La Mesa Ecopark and the treatment facilities of Manila Water.
One of the highlights of the fellowship was the opportunity to meet the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Philippines, Madam Ambassador Marielle Geraedts, and present their transformative change projects.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Angat Buhay, Save Philippine Seas, Manila Water Foundation, and Embassy of the Netherlands in the Philippines for creating platforms that empower women in the water sector and support the next generation of leaders.
