On 4 May 2026, the Environmental Hydrology Laboratory hosted a water quality assessment capacitation workshop for the Biodiversity Management Program of San Miguel Aerocity Inc. (SMAI). The activity was held at Saribuhay sa Dampalit, Brgy. Pamarawan, Malolos City, Bulacan.
The workshop was requested by the SMAI Biodiversity Management Team to help strengthen their environmental monitoring framework across their sites in Bulacan and Pampanga. By integrating water quality monitoring into their existing biodiversity initiatives, the program aims to achieve a more comprehensive and holistic assessment of overall ecosystem health.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to key concepts and methods in water quality assessment and environmental monitoring, including the importance of monitoring physical and chemical water parameters in aquatic ecosystems. The training also emphasized how water quality data can support evidence-based environmental management and conservation planning.
Strengthening technical capacity in water quality assessment contributes to better understanding of ecosystem conditions, supports informed decision-making in protecting our environment.
