ENG 11

This course is a junior level course designed to reinforce grammar and composition skills.  Emphasis will be placed on British and American literature including prose, poetry, and novels in relation to the literary periods from Old English to Contemporary.  Reading skills will be encouraged in order to recognize cause and effect relationships, drawing conclusions, making generalizations, identifying main ideas and supporting details, predicting outcomes, understanding sequences, and summarizing.  Individual and group research projects are required.
