If you want advanced real-time translation, superior battery longevity, and bone conduction technology for immersive study sessions, choose EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s; if you need a lightweight, budget-friendly option with a classic dynamic driver sound and reliable auto-pairing for casual listening or running, choose HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds.
• EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s: The standout strength is its unique AI translation capability and massive 80-hour total battery life with an LCD case, but the trade-off is a specialized open-ear hook design that prioritizes situational awareness over deep isolation. This pick is for international students and travelers who need to stay connected across languages without removing their earpieces.
• HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds: Its biggest advantage is the simple, secure fit with interchangeable silicone tips and a stable Bluetooth 6 connection for quick pairing, though it offers a shorter playtime window of 60 hours total compared to the Q16s. This pick is for runners and daily commuters who prioritize a pressure-free fit and straightforward audio performance without complex tech features.
The EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s Pro is engineered for a specific type of user who needs more than just music in their ears. If you are an international student or a professional traveler, the integrated AI translation feature supporting 144 languages and dialects transforms this from a simple headphone into a communication tool. You can engage in global conversations or follow lectures in foreign languages without ever taking the earbuds out, making it one of the best options for studying in a multilingual environment. The bone conduction driver technology delivers clear audio while keeping your ears open to the world, which is crucial when you need to hear announcements on a train or interact with people nearby while focusing on your work.
For those who spend long hours in front of a screen or reading, the comfort factor here is significant. The ergonomic open-ear hook design ensures there is no pressure inside the ear canal, preventing the fatigue that often comes with traditional in-ear monitors during marathon study sessions. The battery life is equally compelling for heavy users; with up to 15 hours on a single charge and a staggering 80 hours total with the charging case, you rarely need to think about power. The LCD display on the case lets you monitor exactly how much juice is left, so you never get caught off guard during a late-night cram session.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you are looking for noise-cancelling in-ear earbuds for study that completely block out a noisy coffee shop or a busy office, these might disappoint. The open-ear design inherently allows ambient sound in, which is a feature, not a bug, but it means you cannot isolate yourself from the world. Additionally, the touch controls on the case add a layer of complexity that some users might find unnecessary if they just want simple plug-and-play functionality. It is a premium tool for specific needs, and if your primary goal is just listening to podcasts in silence, you might find the extra features and price point harder to justify compared to simpler alternatives.
The HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds cater to the user who values simplicity and a secure physical fit above all else. These earbuds come with multiple silicone ear tip sizes (S, M, L), allowing you to customize the seal and stability of the device. While they maintain an open-ear structure, the inclusion of these tips suggests a design philosophy focused on ensuring the buds stay put during movement. This makes them an excellent choice for active individuals, particularly runners or gym-goers who need headphones that won't fall out during high-intensity intervals. The IPX7 waterproof rating provides robust protection against sweat and rain, giving you confidence to push through tough workouts without worrying about moisture damage.
Audio quality here relies on standard 12mm dynamic drivers rather than bone conduction, which typically results in a sound profile that feels more familiar to listeners accustomed to traditional headphones. You get clear highs and rich bass, suitable for enjoying music or audiobooks while staying aware of your surroundings. The Bluetooth 6 connectivity ensures a very stable link with a range of up to 10 meters, and the Hall switch technology means you simply open the case to reconnect instantly. This seamless auto-pairing is a huge plus for anyone who wants to minimize setup time and just get straight into their workout or commute. The LED display on the case also helps you keep track of the remaining power, showing the status of both the buds and the case clearly.
That said, there are limitations to consider. The total battery life caps at 60 hours, which is less than the EGWAT model, meaning you might need to charge the case more frequently if you use them for extended periods. Also, while the dual microphones reduce background noise for calls, they do not offer the same level of advanced environmental noise cancellation found in higher-end models. If you are looking for the best transparency mode headphone for study where you need to filter out distractions while hearing the outside world, the lack of adaptive EQ presets and spatial audio modes might be a drawback. It is a solid, no-nonsense pair of earbuds for daily use, but it lacks the specialized "smart" features that define the competition.
• Best for Battery Life → EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s: With 80 hours of total playtime versus 60 hours, the EGWAT unit wins for long trips or weeks of study without access to a charger.
• Best for Translation Needs → EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s: Only the Q16s supports real-time AI translation across 144 languages, making it the only viable option for language learners or travelers.
• Best for Secure Fit Options → HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds: The inclusion of three sizes of silicone ear tips gives HJSlucky an edge for users needing a customizable, secure fit during vigorous activity.
• Best for Connection Stability → HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds: Bluetooth 6 technology with Hall switch auto-pairing offers a slightly more modern and frictionless connection experience compared to Bluetooth 5.4.
• Best for Situational Awareness → EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s: The bone conduction driver and open-ear design provide a distinct awareness of the environment, ideal for outdoor safety and commuting.
• Best for Waterproofing → HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds: With an IPX7 rating compared to the Q16s' IPX6, the HJSlucky model offers superior resistance against intense sweat and heavy rain.
• Best for Sound Customization → EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s: Features like adaptive ANC, equalizer presets, and spatial audio modes allow for deeper personalization of your listening experience.
• Best Value for Casual Use → HJSlucky Open Ear Earbuds: If you don't need translation or complex audio tuning, the HJSlucky model provides essential features like good sound and water resistance at a likely lower entry point.
In my opinion, for anyone using headphones specifically for study in a demanding environment, the EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s is the superior choice. The ability to translate languages in real-time and the massive 80-hour battery life directly address the pain points of academic and professional life, where focus and endurance are paramount. While the HJSlucky model is a capable device for sports and casual listening, the Q16s offers a level of utility that transforms the earbuds from a passive accessory into an active learning tool. I would buy the EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s because the added features justify the investment for serious users who need to stay productive and connected without interruption.
No, neither of these are "over-ear" headphones; both are open-ear in-ear styles designed to leave the ear canal open. However, they are excellent for study due to their situational awareness and long battery life, with the EGWAT model offering better features for language learning.
Neither model offers full active noise cancellation that blocks out the world. They use Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for calls and rely on an open-ear design to let ambient sound in, which is better for safety but requires you to manage your own focus.
The EGWAT ETSANDYS Q16s excels here with its bone conduction driver and open-ear design, allowing you to hear your surroundings clearly while listening to audio. This makes it easier to transition between studying and interacting with others in a shared space.
Yes, if you travel or study for long days without access to power. The 80-hour total capacity of the EGWAT is significantly higher than the 60-hour capacity of the HJSlucky, reducing the frequency of charging cycles needed.
