Math Contests

HIGH SCHOOL CONTEST - March 1, 2020

We will be hosting our first contest of the year on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Franklin High School in Elk Grove.

Please register for the contest here on the Mathleague website. The cost of each registrant is $10. You will not be able to pay on-line; payments should be made at the door. We will be using this as a fundraiser for our math team in order to afford hosting and buying awards for future contests.

This will be an official Mathleague.org contest that will serve as a US Qualifying contest.

Check-in for this High School contest will begin at 1:15pm in the Franklin High School Multi-Purpose Room with the contest beginning at 1:30pm.

The contest will consist of four parts:

  1. Sprint Round - 30 multiple-choice questions (1 Hour solo contest)

  2. Target Round - 4 pairs of questions (40 minutes total solo contest)

  3. Team Round - 10 questions (20 minutes total team contest)

  4. Relay Round - 5 trios of questions (about 15 minutes total team contest)

Additional information about each contest can be found here on the Mathleague website. Please note, though, that Sprint and Relay do not allow calculators while Target and Team do. Please also note that the Team contest consists of 6 or fewer students from the same school, while Relay limits teams to three students from the same school.
