Effective Date: August 19, 2026
Tinibuds ("we," "us," or "our") operates the mobile application GearX: Classic Game Emulator (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains our data collection and protection practices when you download, install, or use our App.
By using GearX: Classic Game Emulator, you agree to the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
1. Information Processing & Storage
A. Local Files and Game Data (ROMs & Save States)
GearX: Classic Game Emulator acts as a tool to execute compatible game files (ROMs) and save game progress locally on your device.
On-Device File Access: The App requests storage/media permissions solely to browse, locate, and read game files (ROMs), save states, cheat codes, and cover art stored on your device's internal storage or SD card.
Zero Server Uploads: We do not collect, transmit, store, or back up your personal game files, ROMs, or save files on any remote servers controlled by us. All game processing occurs entirely on your device.
B. Automatically Collected Non-Personal Technical Data
To maintain application stability, improve performance, and support app maintenance, we and our third-party service providers may automatically process non-personal diagnostic data:
Device Details: Device model, hardware specifications, CPU architecture, screen resolution, operating system version, system language, and time zone settings.
App Performance & Usage Logs: Features accessed, frame rate/emulation performance metrics, app crash logs, and session duration.
Advertising & Device Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (GAID) or equivalent device tokens used for ad delivery, frequency capping, and ad performance measurement.
2. How We Use Your Information
The technical data automatically collected is used strictly for the following operational purposes:
Core Emulator Functionality: Enabling fluid emulation, button mapping, file browsing, and local save/load functions.
App Optimization & Maintenance: Identifying crash reports, fixing bugs, and improving game compatibility across hardware devices.
Monetization & Advertising: Displaying non-intrusive advertisements and evaluating ad interactions.
3. Third-Party SDKs and Service Providers
We partner with trusted third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to support analytics, crash reporting, and ad delivery. These providers process non-personal data under their respective privacy policies:
Google Play Services: Platform APIs, authentication, and core system functionality.
Google Privacy Policy
Google AdMob: In-app advertising and ad performance measurement.
AdMob Privacy Policy
Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics): Performance monitoring and crash diagnostic logs.
Firebase Privacy & Security
4. User Rights, Opt-Outs & Permissions
We respect your data privacy rights and provide full control over device permissions:
Storage Permissions: You can revoke or grant storage/file access permissions at any time via your device settings (Settings > Apps > GearX > Permissions). Note that revoking storage access will prevent the emulator from loading game files.
Advertising Preferences: You can reset or limit your Google Advertising ID in your Android system settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization).
EEA/UK User Consent (GDPR): For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we implement a Google-certified User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent dialog allowing you to manage your ad consent and data processing preferences.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA): California residents may opt out of personalized ad tracking via their device settings.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
GearX: Classic Game Emulator is built for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in applicable legal jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate measures.
6. Data Security and Retention
We retain diagnostic and analytical data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the technical and operational purposes outlined in this policy. We apply industry-standard security measures to safeguard data; however, please note that no electronic storage or transmission method over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, legal regulations, or operational changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Any changes become effective immediately upon publication.
