EDW PTA
Stay informed and help shape our children’s education and future with the PTA
Emmet D. Williams Parent Teacher Association (EDW PTA) is a volunteer organization in Roseville, Minnesota. Our community members work together to support our students; promoting a strong and engaged school community.
As a chapter of National PTA we firmly believe in the mission and values of the PTA, especially in building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive PTA:
National PTA represents parents, caregivers, educators and communities of all children, which enables us to best achieve PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality. Our collective backgrounds, perspectives and ideas allow us to create the strongest future and direction for PTA.
2025 Read-A-Thon: Barnyard Reading Adventure
From January 24 to February 14, students are teaming up to read a total of 500,000 minutes! The goal of the read-a-thon is to get students excited about reading while working together to achieve this big milestone.
Students can track the minutes they read at home, and teachers will log the minutes read at school. Total minutes from home and school will count towards the all-school reading goal of 500,000.
As part of the program, students are encouraged to help raise money for EDW by asking friends and family for donations to support their reading.
All funds raised will go directly to support student programs like art, music, field trips, recess equipment, and more!
Final day to log minutes online or return paper reading log is Friday, February 21st .
Thank you to our sponsors for their support!

What does the EDW PTA do?
The main role of the PTA is to build strong working relationships among families, teachers and the school, in support of students. This includes recruiting and coordinating volunteers, organizing parent education events, planning teacher appreciation activities and more. The PTA is also responsible for community building and fundraising to bring additional assistance to staff to offer students more opportunities.
When are meetings held?
Meetings are typically held bi-monthly . The beginning of each meeting includes our school Town Hall with updates and discussions from our principal, teachers, and staff. Often experts from various education and service areas will present important topics as part of our meetings. You do not need to be a member to attend a meeting but only EDW PTA members have voting rights.
