Welcome to Edu Engine, a mobile application owned and operated by Farwan Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal data of our users.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Edu Engine mobile application (the "App"). Edu Engine operates as a School Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform designed to streamline school operations, empower teachers, and provide operational transparency to parents.
Edu Engine is provided to educational institutions ("Schools") as a data processor.
School as Data Fiduciary: The School remains the ultimate owner and controller of all student, parent, and teacher data uploaded to or generated within the App.
Farwan Technologies as Data Processor: We process this data strictly on behalf of the School and in accordance with the School’s instructions.
To provide a seamless experience for schools and families, the App handles the following categories of information:
Account Credentials: Unique Identifiers (UIDs), designations, full names, and encrypted passwords created by the school administration for teachers and parents.
Academic & Operational Data: Student roster details (names, roll numbers, class/division assignments) and daily student attendance records marked by teachers.
Classroom Content: Activity titles, instructions, notes, and PDF attachments uploaded by teachers for assignments or study materials.
App Performance & Analytics: We utilize Google Analytics to collect anonymous technical data, such as app crashes, device models, operating system versions, and feature usage patterns. This data is collected solely to monitor app stability and improve performance.
No Device Hardware Access: The App does not access your device's Camera, Microphone, or GPS/Location hardware. It only utilizes standard storage access protocols when a user explicitly chooses to select and upload a PDF file.
We process the collected data strictly for the following benign, operational purposes:
To facilitate secure user authentication and access control.
To allow teachers to mark and manage classroom attendance efficiently.
To allow parents to view their children’s daily attendance, academic logs, and classroom activities.
To maintain app stability, troubleshoot system bugs, and optimize user experience via Google Analytics.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize any user data or student records for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Infrastructure: All personal data, academic logs, and uploaded files are securely stored within a dedicated cloud database powered by Supabase.
Security Safeguards: We employ industry-standard cryptographic protocols, secure API layers, and access controls to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
Edu Engine does not target or allow direct access to children under the age of 18.
Parental Access Only: The App is designed exclusively for adult users, specifically School Faculty and Parents/Guardians.
Student Data Representation: While the App displays student academic progress and attendance records, this data is accessed solely by verified Parents/Guardians to stay informed about their child's performance. The School is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable local regulations regarding student records.
Because Edu Engine is a institutional management system controlled entirely by your School, data retention and deletion parameters are governed by the School's policies.
Account Deletion: Users (Parents and Teachers) cannot directly delete institutional records or accounts within the App. If you wish to modify or permanently delete an account or associated data, you must contact your respective School Administration.
Administrative Override: Upon receiving an authorized request from the School management, Farwan Technologies will promptly execute the requested data deletion or modification across our backend systems.
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with the applicable data protection laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. We ensure that data processing is carried out lawfully, fairly, and transparently based on the institutional contract between Farwan Technologies and the participating Schools.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and publishing the link within the App and Google Play Console.
