Member Information

Welcome

We are very happy you have chosen to join one of the best Search and Rescue Teams in California!

On this page you will find the following information:

  1. A short Power Point presentation, that outlines your responsibilities as a new member for your personalized training program.

  2. A letter from our Sierra West Ground Team Type 2 Coordinator introducing the “Mentor” or “Field Training Officer” concept we utilize in El Dorado County Search and Rescue (EDSAR)

  3. The “El Dorado County Search and Rescue Field Training Manual,” which covers the basics about EDSAR and your involvement, no matter which Team you end up joining (or multiple teams, as many of us do). This manual is the result of many “Old Timers” sharing their knowledge of our Team and policies with our newest folks.

  4. A copy of the Newcomer booklet we have prepared.

  5. Basic Equipment List required for all members of SAR.

  6. A link to the Core Sign Off Log - You will need to print this for your records.

We also have a private Facebook page which we can get you signed up for once you have completed your Basic SAR Training Course.

Your Team Lead and Training Officer will also be a valuable resource for you as well, and will assist you in getting your training program started.

We have several different teams available but you always begin with the Ground Team. If you have a particular team you are looking at, please let us know so we can assign you a Field Training Officer/Mentor in that area.

Again, welcome to SAR and we look forward to seeing you at our SAR Meetings and Trainings.

If you have any questions or concerns at all, please feel free to contact me at Elizabeth.Wright@edsar.org

Most Sincerely,

Beth Wright
