If you want high-fidelity sound, active noise cancellation, and serious battery life for your PS5 or daily commute, choose Edifier V80; if you need something nearly weightless that vanishes in your ear canal for sleeping or discreet work calls, choose Yihou Mini Invisible Earbuds.
• Edifier V80: The heavyweight champion of over-ear comfort with hybrid ANC, 45-hour playtime, and gaming-grade low latency, but it is bulky and impossible to hide.
• Yihou Mini Invisible Earbuds: A featherlight, zero-protrusion design that fits perfectly in small ears and disappears visually, yet lacks active noise cancellation and long-range connectivity.
• Best For: The Edifier V80 is the clear choice for immersive gaming sessions and long travel days where audio quality matters most.
• Best For: The Yihou Mini is the only option for side sleepers, people with tiny ear canals, or professionals who need absolute privacy without drawing attention.
The Edifier V80 is built for the person who treats their headphones as a primary piece of equipment, not just an accessory. Its core strength lies in its ability to create an immersive sonic environment using a 40-millimeter dynamic driver and a frequency response range from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. This isn't just about volume; it is about clarity across the entire spectrum, allowing you to hear subtle details in music or footsteps in a game that other devices miss. If you are looking for a best kids headset for ps5 that can also handle heavy bass tracks or complex orchestral scores, this device delivers the power required for those frequencies without distortion.
What truly sets this model apart is its commitment to endurance and isolation. With up to 45 hours of playtime on a single charge (and 26 hours even with Active Noise Cancellation engaged), you can go days without hunting for a charging cable. The fast-charging feature is equally impressive; a mere 15-minute plug-in provides eight hours of listening time, which is perfect for those moments when you forget to charge overnight. The hybrid ANC technology actively blocks out unwanted background noise, making it ideal for noisy offices, planes, or busy households. For gamers specifically, the Bluetooth 5.4 connection ensures a stable link with a latency of just 6 milliseconds, meaning there is no annoying delay between your controller input and the sound coming through the speakers.

However, this performance comes with a physical trade-off. At 0.48 kg, these are substantial headphones designed to sit over the ear rather than inside it. They are foldable and come with soft memory foam cushions for comfort during long sessions, but they are simply not portable in the same way earbuds are. You cannot wear them while sleeping on your side, and they will be conspicuous in quiet meetings. This product is strictly for users who prioritize audio fidelity, noise blocking, and battery longevity over discretion and minimalism. If you need to block out the world to focus on a task or get lost in a game, the Edifier V80 is the tool for the job.
The Yihou Mini Invisible Earbuds cater to a completely different set of needs, focusing entirely on invisibility and fit. These are not standard earbuds; they are engineered to disappear. Weighing only 0.08 oz each, they are lighter than a sheet of paper, creating a sensation that is almost non-existent on the head. This makes them uniquely suited for people who struggle with the pressure of traditional buds or anyone with very small ear canals. The XS silicone tips ensure a snug fit that prevents falling out, making them a reliable choice for children, women with smaller anatomy, or anyone who has found standard sizes uncomfortable.
Their design philosophy is "zero protrusion." Because they sit completely inside the ear canal, no one can see them. This is critical for professionals who need to listen to white noise, attend Zoom calls, or enjoy podcasts without signaling that they are wearing headphones. They are also the ultimate solution for side sleepers. Unlike bulkier options that press against the pillow and cause pain, these micro earbuds allow you to lie on your side without any discomfort. The sliding cover case adds a tactile element, allowing you to open the lid with one hand smoothly, which feels satisfying and keeps the tiny buds secure during transport.
Despite their microscopic size, they deliver punchy bass and crisp vocals, proving that big sound doesn't require big hardware. However, they lack the advanced features of larger competitors. There is no mention of active noise cancellation, meaning you are relying on passive seal rather than electronic interference reduction. The control scheme is limited to touch controls for volume, and they do not support multipoint connections for switching between two devices seamlessly. They are a niche product for specific use cases: sleeping, working in close quarters, or exercising where you don't want anything to slip. If your priority is being unseen and comfortable above all else, these are the only viable option.
• Best for Gaming on PS5 → Edifier V80. The 6-millisecond latency and 40mm drivers provide the responsive, immersive audio needed for competitive gaming, whereas the invisible earbuds offer no low-latency guarantee.
• Best for Battery Life → Edifier V80. With 45 hours of playback, you rarely charge these; the Yihou earbuds, while efficient, do not match this sheer duration for all-day use.
• Best for Sleeping → Yihou Mini Invisible Earbuds. Their zero-protrusion design allows side sleeping without pain, a feat impossible for over-ear headphones like the V80.
• Best for Small Ears → Yihou Mini Invisible Earbuds. Specifically designed for narrow canals with XS tips, they prevent the slipping issues common with standard earbuds.
• Best for Noise Isolation → Edifier V80. Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation actively removes environmental noise, while the Yihou relies solely on the physical seal of the ear tip.
• Best for Discretion → Yihou Mini Invisible Earbuds. They vanish completely in public, whereas the V80 is a visible statement piece that draws attention.
• Best for Multipoint Connectivity → Edifier V80. You can switch instantly between a laptop and phone simultaneously; the Yihou does not advertise this dual-device capability.
• Best for Durability/Build → Edifier V80. The foldable plastic build with a carrying case suggests robust travel durability, while the tiny Yihou case is more delicate.
I would buy the Edifier V80 because it offers a complete audio experience that actually justifies the space it takes up. While the Yihou Mini is a marvel of miniaturization, it feels like a compromise on features for the sake of invisibility. The Edifier V80 brings the full power of Hi-Res audio, genuine silence via ANC, and a battery life that lasts a week to my desk and living room. It is the superior choice for anyone using a PS5 console, whether for casual gaming or focused work, where immersion and sound quality are non-negotiable. The Yihou is a great gadget for specific niche scenarios like sleeping, but for general daily use, the Edifier V80 is the only one I would recommend.
Yes, the Edifier V80 supports a low latency mode of 6 milliseconds, making them suitable for gaming on consoles like the PS5 where timing is crucial.
Absolutely. Their featherlight 0.08 oz weight and zero-protrusion design mean they won't press against the pillow, making them safe for side sleepers.
You can expect up to 45 hours of playtime with ANC off, or 26 hours with ANC on, ensuring they last through multiple days of heavy use.
