If you want comfortable headphones for office work with long battery life and deep noise isolation, choose Edifier V80; if you need a voice assistant sleep headphones for office scenario where style and situational awareness matter more than silence, choose ERDU Starry Ear Cuff.
• Edifier V80: Its biggest strength is the massive 45-hour battery life and hybrid active noise cancellation that blocks out office chatter; its trade-off is the over-ear form factor which can feel warm in hot environments. This pick is for the professional who needs to focus deeply and travel frequently.
• ERDU Starry Ear Cuff: Its biggest strength is the jewelry-grade aesthetic and open-ear design that keeps you aware of your surroundings while looking chic; its trade-off is the shorter 30-hour total playtime and lack of true isolation from loud office noise. This pick is for the style-conscious user who wants tech that doubles as an accessory.
The Edifier V80 is engineered for the person who treats their audio gear as a serious tool for productivity. The defining feature here is the 45-hour average playtime, a specification that screams "all-day work" without needing to hunt for a charging port. In a busy office setting, the ability to charge fully via fast charging—getting 8 hours of use from just a 15-minute plug-in—is a game-changer. You can grab it before your morning commute, charge it while you sip coffee, and not worry about it dying during a late-night project deadline.
The Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation is another critical factor for this device. Unlike passive blockers, this technology actively dampens low-frequency hums and sudden spikes in volume, making it ideal for open-plan offices or co-working spaces where background noise is constant. Combined with the 40-millimeter dynamic drivers and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, the sound profile aims for stability and speed, ensuring that video calls don't suffer from lag and music remains crisp. The impedance of 32 ohms suggests it handles power efficiently, keeping the connection stable across various devices like laptops and smartphones.

However, the over-ear circumaural design is a significant consideration. While the faux leather cushions and lightweight materials (0.43 kg) are designed to relieve pressure, some users might find the ear cups trapping heat after several hours of wear. If you work in a warm climate or have sensitive ears, the physical bulk of these headphones could become a distraction. Furthermore, the foldable design prioritizes portability for travelers, meaning if you never leave your desk, the carrying case utility is less relevant. This product fits the professional who values immersion and endurance above all else, provided they don't mind the traditional headphone silhouette.
The ERDU Starry Ear Cuff targets a completely different demographic: the user who refuses to compromise on fashion when plugging into technology. With its clip-on open-ear design and 36-cut sparkling zircon stones, this device is built to be seen. It weighs only 5 grams per side, utilizing a high-rebound silicone bridge that sits gently on the ear rather than inside the canal. For someone who wears glasses, suffers from ear fatigue, or simply dislikes the feeling of being "cut off" from the world, this ergonomic fit offers a pain-free experience that traditional in-ear buds cannot match.
The appeal here extends beyond comfort into social dynamics. Because these are open-ear headphones, you maintain situational awareness—a crucial trait for office workers who need to hear colleagues approaching or participate in quick hallway conversations without ripping off bulky headsets. The inclusion of Bluetooth 6.0 ensures rapid pairing and stable transmission, while the dual-device pairing allows you to seamlessly switch between a work laptop and a personal phone. The sound quality relies on ultra-sensitive dual-magnetic diaphragms to deliver Hi-Fi audio despite the open design, though the lower impedance of 16 ohms indicates a different tuning strategy focused on clarity rather than heavy bass impact.
The trade-off lies in the battery endurance and isolation capabilities. While the 30-hour total playtime (5 hours on the buds plus 25 from the case) is respectable, it falls short of the V80's marathon runtime. The charging time for the earbuds themselves takes 1.5 hours, which is longer than the V80's lightning-fast 15-minute boost. Additionally, because there is no seal against the ear canal, active noise cancellation is limited; you will still hear the hum of the office HVAC system or nearby conversations. This product is perfect for the creative professional, the frequent traveler who values style, or anyone looking for a gift that feels like luxury jewelry but functions as modern tech.

• Best for noise isolation → Edifier V80: The hybrid active noise cancellation and over-ear seal physically block out distractions, offering a quiet bubble for deep focus.
• Best for style and aesthetics → ERDU Starry Ear Cuff: With interchangeable magnetic crystals and a jewelry-like finish, it serves as a fashion statement that standard headphones cannot.
• Best for multi-device switching → Both: Both support multipoint connection, allowing seamless toggling between two sources, though the ERDU specifically highlights dual-phone pairing.
• Best for travel portability → Edifier V80: The foldable design and included carrying case make it easier to pack away securely compared to the delicate crystal components of the cuff.
• Best for all-day comfort (no pressure) → ERDU Starry Ear Cuff: At 5g per side with no in-ear insertion, it eliminates the pressure points common with over-ear models.
• Best for connectivity stability → ERDU Starry Ear Cuff: Equipped with Bluetooth 6.0, it promises the latest "Flash-Link" technology for instant pairing, whereas the V80 uses the solid but slightly older Bluetooth 5.4.
In my opinion, if I were setting up a dedicated workspace for myself today, I would buy the Edifier V80. The sheer reliability of the 45-hour battery life and the effective noise cancellation provide a level of focus that is hard to beat in a modern office environment. The ability to drop them on a quick charge and get half a day of work done is a practical advantage that outweighs the warmth factor of the ear cups. However, if your priority is staying connected to your team while maintaining a polished look, or if you suffer from ear sensitivity, the ERDU Starry Ear Cuff is the smarter choice. Ultimately, the V80 wins for pure productivity, while the ERDU wins for lifestyle integration.
Neither product sheet explicitly lists an IPX water resistance rating, so you should assume both are vulnerable to liquids. Treat the ERDU's delicate zircon stones and the V80's electronic ports with caution around coffee cups.
No, the open-ear design inherently prevents sound isolation. You will hear ambient office noise clearly, which is great for awareness but poor for blocking distractions.
Yes, the specifications confirm Dual-Device Pairing (Multipoint Connection), allowing simultaneous connection to two smartphones or devices for seamless switching.
