Assistant Professor Department of English Language and Culture Hankyong National University
Welcome! I'm an applied linguist and currently Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language and Culture at Hankyong National University, South Korea. My research interests include L2 writing and speaking, assessment, and second language acquisition, and using NLP and corpora to explore these areas. My latest research examines educational practice that would best enhance learners' ability to develop L2 writing skills, particularly through the use of computational tools.
I'm a current member of AAAL, ALAK, KASELL, and KATE and have published in Assessing Writing, English Teaching (Korea), Korean Journal of English Language and Linguistics. I have also served as a reviewer for KJELL and presented my latest works at the International Conference on Education Research and ALAK International Conference.
I received my Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and Technology with a Minor in Statistics at Iowa State University (2020). Previously, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in English (2011) and an M.A.T. in K-12 ESL Education (2012).
