Edgware Voice bows out... almost

9th June 2024

Two years ago, Edgware Voice was launched. In recent years a huge tower block and a key planning document had snuck in under the radar. Enough was enough. Our mission was simple - to inform residents during a very significant time for Edgware.

We're happy to have started conversations in the early days of the Ballymore consultation. Since then, Save Our Edgware has been set up by other residents to campaign against the final plans. Their petition, rallies, social media and many public meetings have exceeded our own capabilities and we are glad they are able to dedicate so much to saving Edgware.

During this time, we have often been told this website has been of much use to informing residents, so we have kept it going. However, with the new Residents Association (a resource which will serve Edgware well) their websites have mobilised to match ours. There is no longer much use in having two websites on the same issue; it is time we hand over to them.

For as long as is useful, we will keep parts of our website live - for example our comments page is an excellent public record (and something planning officials really ought to read). Our summary of the plans is also a unique offering amongst a whirlwind of planning paperwork. However, expect more links on this website to point to the official campaign website, who we wish the very best in their efforts to represent Edgware's residents - something Ballymore and Barnet are failing to do.
