Privacy Policy for Edge Volume Touch

Last updated: July 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Edge Volume Touch ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our mobile application. We built this app to be simple, lightweight, and respectful of your privacy — it does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

Summary

Edge Volume Touch does not collect any personal data. The App runs entirely on your device, has no backend server, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party data sharing of any kind.

Information We Do Not Collect

Edge Volume Touch does not collect, store, transmit, or share:

All settings you configure (edge position, strip width and height, transparency, sensitivity, vibration, auto-start, floating lock button style and position, etc.) are stored locally on your device only, using Android's private app storage (DataStore/Preferences). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or to any third party.

Permissions the App Uses, and Why

Edge Volume Touch requests only the permissions strictly necessary to provide its core functions — letting you adjust media volume by sliding your finger near the screen edge, and, optionally, letting you lock your screen or take a screenshot with a floating button:

Permission

Purpose

Draw over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

Required to display the small, semi-transparent touch strip, and the optional floating lock button, on top of other apps (e.g. video players) so you can control volume — or lock your screen / take a screenshot — without leaving the app you're using.

Foreground Service

Keeps the touch strip, the floating lock button, and gesture listener running reliably while your screen is on. A persistent low-priority notification is shown while this is active, as required by Android.

Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)

Used only to power the optional floating lock button feature. When you tap the floating button, this permission lets the App (1) lock your screen instantly and (2) capture a screenshot, the same way pressing your device's physical power button or screenshot shortcut would. This permission is never used to read, record, monitor, collect, or transmit the content of your screen, your keystrokes, or any other data from other apps. It is requested only if you choose to enable the floating lock button, and only after you have viewed and explicitly accepted an in-app disclosure screen that explains this exact use before the permission is requested.

Post Notifications

Used only to display the required foreground service notification described above. We do not send any other notifications.

Vibrate

Used only to provide optional haptic feedback when you change the volume, if you enable this in Settings.

Receive Boot Completed

Used only if you enable "Auto-start after reboot" in Settings, so the App can resume working after your device restarts.

None of these permissions are used to read, monitor, or transmit the contents of other apps, your files, or your personal information. The touch strip only detects swipe gestures within its own small, fixed area on the screen edge, and the Accessibility Service is used solely to trigger the two actions described above (lock screen, take screenshot) when you deliberately tap the floating button — it does not read or interact with anything else on your screen.

Third-Party Services

Edge Volume Touch does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services. We do not share data with any third party because we do not collect any data to share.

Children's Privacy

Edge Volume Touch does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country), because the App does not collect information from any user.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all settings are stored locally on your device only, you can remove all App data at any time by:

There is no server-side data for us to delete, because none is ever collected.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features or changes in legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
