Scope
The Edge Intelligence for Emerging Applications (EI-EA) Workshop aims to bring together academic researchers, industry experts, and practitioners to explore the evolving role of edge intelligence across a wide spectrum of domains, including but not limited to the Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 5.0, autonomous systems, immersive media, and smart infrastructures.
With the increasing demand for real-time, secure, and efficient computation, edge intelligence—empowering edge devices with machine learning and decision-making capabilities—has emerged as a crucial enabler for next-generation applications. This workshop will highlight advances in edge-centric learning, distributed inference, hardware optimization, federated architectures, and sustainable deployments across diverse domains.
Topics
Accepted papers will be published in the new2an proceedings and will be submitted to the Springer digital library. Authors are welcome to submit original papers (not published before and/or simultaneously to another venue) with topics that include but are not limited to:
1. Edge intelligence for smart cities, healthcare, Industry 5.0, and immersive media
2. Edge learning architectures and algorithms
3. Federated, split, and decentralized learning at the edge
4. Resource-aware and energy-efficient edge intelligence
5. Hardware-software co-design for intelligent edge systems
6. Edge computing for low-latency, mission-critical applications
7. Security, privacy, and trust mechanisms in edge intelligence
8. Standardization, benchmarking, and interoperability for edge systems
9. Edge intelligence toolchains, platforms, and simulation frameworks
10. Scalable deployment of AI models on heterogeneous edge devices
11. Sustainability and green AI at the edge
12. Industrial use cases and cross-layer optimization
Submitted papers are encouraged to address novel technical challenges or industrial and standard aspects of the key technologies for sustainable and secure cognitive buildings/cities.
