EdgeAura does not collect, store, or share any personal data such as:
Name
Email address
Photos, media, or files
Location or contact information
We may collect limited, non-personal operational data such as:
Device model and system version
App performance and crash statistics (to improve stability)
This data is anonymous and cannot identify you.
2. Accessibility Permission Usage
EdgeAura requires Accessibility Service permission only for the following purpose:
✅ To detect screen edges and display the glowing lighting effect.
This permission is strictly limited to enabling screen-edge visual effects. We do not:
Read or capture screen content
Collect personal text input or sensitive information
Track user behavior across apps
The permission will never be used for any other purpose.
3. No Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share user data with any third parties for marketing or other purposes.
4. Data Security
4.1 We apply appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access or misuse of non-personal operational data.
4.2 Read Phone State Permission
Our application requests the READ_PHONE_STATE permission. It is critical for us to be transparent about why we need this sensitive permission and how it is used.
a) Strictly Limited Purpose:
The sole and exclusive purpose for which we use the READ_PHONE_STATE permission is to enable the core functionality of our "Incoming Call Flash" feature. This permission allows the application to:
Detect the State of an Incoming Call: Precisely identify when the phone enters an off-hook state (call answered) or when a call is disconnected.
Trigger the Flashlight: Use the detection of the call being answered as the direct trigger to activate the camera flashlight, providing the visual notification you expect.
Automatically Cease Function: Use the detection of the call ending to immediately turn off the flashlight, ensuring it does not remain on unnecessarily.
b) What We Do NOT Do:
We hereby explicitly declare and commit to the following:
No Collection of Personal Identifiers: We do not collect, upload, or store any personal or device identifiers accessible through this permission, such as your phone number, IMEI, IMSI, or serial number.
No Call Recording or Monitoring: We do not and cannot record phone calls, monitor call content, log phone numbers you are communicating with, or access any form of call history.
No Tracking or Profiling: The permission is used solely for real-time state detection to control the flashlight. It is not used for user tracking, advertising, or creating any user profiles.
No Data Sharing: The state information detected (i.e., "call answered" or "call ended") is processed locally on your device in real-time and is not shared with any servers or third parties.
c) User Control:
This permission is essential for the app to function as intended. If you do not grant this permission, the feature that automatically activates the flashlight upon answering a call will not work. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device's Application Settings.
5. Third-Party Services
EdgeAura currently does not integrate third-party analytics or advertising services that collect personal data.
If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and request consent where necessary.
6. Children’s Privacy
EdgeAura is not intended for children under age 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
Updates may be made as needed. The latest version will always be accessible within the app or on the app store listing.
