Electronic design automation (EDA) tools consist of various softwares made to design systems ranging all the way from a single transistor to highly evolved systems built from complex circuits. With the development of semiconductor industry going on at a pace so much so that that trillions of transistors are fabricated on single chip, the complexity of contemporary integrated circuits (IC) is such that they are impossible to design without the aid of EDA tools. Although EDA tools are exhaustively used in the industry, EDA tools also find their use in the academia for IC design by researchers and circuit design enthusiasts.
